To meditate is to realize inwardly the perfect calmness and bliss of one's Essence.

What is meditation? It is to forget your little movie show within your mind - be it good or bad - switch to the Perfection of your Ideal, and rest in this Truth and Beauty of the Lord within yourself.

Meditation is not to be learned - but is to be gradually discovered. It is the state of mind which should be cultivated with tremendous ardour, care and reverence. Meditation, or profound awareness of the Cosmic Being, is increasingly growing when we develop the taste for it. And we can establish this growth only through the path of patience, self- restraint and other daily disciplines. Then we shall come to the Path of Wisdom which will lead us to Enlightenment.

To practice meditation in daily routine is an art of arts. The significant technique of such practice is to -
Pay attention to the Truth of God more -
And to the falsehood of the world less;
To love the Real in everything -
And to be indifferent to the unreal;
Or to Detach- Attach!

Become disciplined. This is the first rule.
Become humble - this is the second rule.
Reduce yourself to the size of a sand grain - do not attribute to yourself
any good qualities. Rather, always think about the qualities of someone
infinitely greater than you yourself are. And here starts your meditation!
The moment you can naturally dwell on something loftier than yourself and
remain effortlessly in these thoughts - you already are meditating! You may
be thoroughly engaged in everyday tasks - yet your thoughts are immersed
in your Ideal - this is real meditation.
Meditation is a form of constant prayer, constant communion with the One you love best. It is not asking for anything - it is being with Something. It is the precious necessity of the Soul.
Meditation is the result of spirituality;
Spirituality is awareness of the Highest and indifference to the Evil.
Meditation is the language of your Soul.

I find that music is the quickest, the surest and the sweetest purifier of nerves and mind. when words and thinking fail - music fully survives.
Music helps to concentrate the mind. without concentration you will never be able to meditate. You can concentrate on music itself, praying through it. You will learn to withdraw all other senses except hearing the melody of your own choice. It will pulsate eventually through your heart.

The best meditation is the constant awareness of the Presence of the Beloved. It really shold be experienced. If you adore Guru and God - you aee in perpetual state of meditation and nothing else interests you.

If you concentrate on the adorable Guru -
It is concrete concentration;
If you place the beloved image into the flaming light of your heart -
It becomes abstract with a sweet fragrance of concrete Ideal.
Such concentration leads painlessly to meditation.

If you are strong enough mentally and spiritually - fill up yourself with ONE DYNAMIC THOUGHT during your silent hours - and then in the course of your busy day - this dynamic Ideal will let itself be known. You will organically not be able to talk idly, to be angry, to partake of something ugly - if you habitually fill up yourself with that one dynamic and ardent thought.

Our "realness" starts in proportion to or withdrawal. Calmness can come upon you only through prayer and meditation. Then e transcend the restless and false mind and enter the Realm of Spirit. This Realm is the Realm of God.

We have to first realize and then remember that this Life-Love-Peace Force is with us wherever we are and whatever we are doing. The remembrance of Guru and God at all times is prayer and meditation. If we achieve this state of consciousness - our special hours of prayer and meditation will bring us still closer to God.
Silent communion with God, or prayerful longing to feel His presence is Yoga. Withdrawal and Concentration result in thinking powerfully one thought only, or what we call meditation.
Those who know the exaltation and ecstasy of true prayer, effortlessly and naturally come to Samadhi, or complete absorption and intense union with the Highest.
Feel that the Highest Force expresses Itself through you. Then you will never try to impress anyone by either your work or your personality, but rather you will express Divine Ideas, whatever you might be doing, thinking, or feeling. You will transmit silently or verbally - equally well and simply.
The Divine Sakti works through you, me and everything. Just be quiet - let It work! If you rejoice - know that it is His Joy. If you have sorrows - know that He is your Peace; sorrows will be removed through this mysterious power of His Peace (not your human efforts to be calm).

If you truly meditate -
You become indifferent to evil;
You become compassionate to sufferers;
And you show enthusiastic admiration for the superiors.
Only when you sympathize with everyone, you can enter into meditation; only
when you realize that life is an obligation towards all, and at the same
time, is a strange dream, only then you will joyously and ecstatically share
this peace with others. You will know that He is with you, guiding, loving
and protecting you. You will burst with joy and gratitude! Meditation is
the practice of the Presence of God, within and outside ourselves - always
and everywhere.

Meditation is the sublimest state of mind. It is the life of the Soul. In meditation the heart gives superb lessons to the head, yet it is not the human heart - it is the highest aspect of our heart, the Heart in which the Lord dwells. Through meditation we converse with God.
A prayer is, in its true meaning, a longing to be with God. So prayer - in its purest and selfless aspect - becomes meditation. In prayer - we turn to God all our Soul - yearning for His Grace. In meditation - we calmly commune with Him - adoring Him. surrendering our Soul to Him and gradually fusing with Him.

Poem on Meditation:
When I stop thinking -
I see.
I see the Divine within me.
When I withdraw from noises -
I hear.
I hear the Voice of Forever,
The Voice of Melodious Truth.
When I hear this Voice -
I come into Silence,
The Silence of
Beautiful Peace...
Only then
Life begins.
