Beauty is the Divinity Within. The true Beauty is imperishable, everlasting, increasingly impressive, purifying, infinitely inspiring! God is Absolute Beauty. Whatever reflects Him is Beautiful. True Art and true Beauty are essentially chaste. This is one of the many signs of Real Beauty. In proportion that we see Beauty, we are beautiful. Outward beauty without intelligence, talent, charm and above all spirituality, is an empty shell.
That Beauty which makes you shed tears of gratitude;
That makes your heart tremble with profound adoration;
That makes you repent for your sins;
That instantaneously changes your gross selfish
personality into refinement and nobility -
That Beauty is the true Beauty.
Even so, he who can fully partake of and appreciate the true Beauty is a great artist, regardless whether he is skilled in fine arts or not. The most sublime part of Beauty is that which neither words nor pictures can express but which transforms the sensitive soul into divinity!

Whenever Beauty purifies us - it serves the Creator's purpose; whenever beauty intoxicates - it serves the purpose of Destruction. The more we care for the Absolute perfection or God - the more we perceive divinity in the Beautiful. The more we care for ourselves - the less divinity we can perceive in beauty; we then are only fascinated by the form - never by the goodness, which alone heightens the beauty. what is pretty is not always good, but what is good is always beautiful. So if you want to attain to Self-Realization through Beauty - become a true Bhakti Yogi.

If you want Truth - choose real Beauty.
If you want Beauty - choose real Goodness.
If you want Goodness - choose Discrimination.
Real Goodness is the inward thing. It is what we feel, what we think, what we understand, that makes us what we are - either good or bad; either beautiful or ugly. Real Goodness and real Beauty are the rarest flowers. They need thorough cultivation.
August 1964 Message 2
Purity is inner beauty. "I pray Thee, O God, that I may be beautiful within." (Socrates) Purity should be in thoughts, feelings, speech and deeds.
Without adoring the saints, it is hard to become pure. You have to first see and understand the perfect purity of another heart. Only then you will be thoroughly ashamed of and disgusted with your own impurities. The fire of a perfect heart of a great saint is so powerful that it can scorch all the impurities of the devotee's heart. But one has to become an ardent devotee. One has to adore - adore - and adore the purity of the Perfect Heart.
This adoration is also an intense longing for perfection. Inevitably it makes he who prostrates, humbles himself, adores and worships - as pure as his ideal. In proportion to our self-abnegation and ability to love Beauty and Perfection - our purity grows. Verily - blessed are the pure in heart!
