ASPIRANT

Signs of the True aspirants:

  1. The true aspirant gradually gets rid of his-her self-asserting mentality through surrendering his whole heart to Guru and the Lord.
  2. The true aspirant is never naive or sentimental. He well knows that the majority (!) of people are utterly worldly, yet he does not criticize - he just understands. He also knows that he is in a very small minority, but again, this does not bother him - he only understands his responsibilities, which are indeed many.
  3. The true aspirant never praises himself, neither is he looking for approval. He is modest. He has a healthy balanced mind. He knows his capacities. He talks only when it is necessary - and when his speech can inspire or help.
  4. The true aspirant avoids worldly contacts. He is extremely natural, simple, available, tolerant, friendly, humorous, charming, serving!
  5. The true aspirant does not hurt others.
  6. The true aspirant should know what is right and what is wrong.
  7. The true aspirant forgives others within the time of two minutes.
  8. The true aspirant never speaks ill of others. He can analyze briefly for the sake of discrimination and that is all. No more talk!
  9. The true aspirant also knows what he is able to practice. He chooses wisely his Sadhana and sticks to it.
  10. The goal of the true aspirant is very, very high. His life is simple.

May you all become the true aspirants!

The aspirant goes through seven stages during his spiritual unfoldment:

  1. Detachment
  2. Renunciation
  3. Aspiration
  4. Meditation
  5. Annihilation of the lower ego
  6. Unification with the higher consciousness
  7. Illumination or Final Liberation.

When you feel that you have a certain detachment - your Sadhana will bear fruits.

Valentina answers a student's question about the necessity of "doubt" for the higher type of seeker:

Never use the word "doubt"; you can say "quest" or "enquiry". Be very precise in your thoughts, words and acts. (But never become pedantic!)

To glorify reason at the expense of faith is wrong. It is as if to speak against the sun and to glorify the warm temperature caused by it! But of course, you shouldn't confuse false beliefs, superstitions, clannish traditions with faith.

It is inconsistent to stress the highest philosophy at the expense of devotional practices. Both lead to the same goal. One should have reverence for all paths, for verily they lead to the Absolute Knowledge if practiced sincerely.

Never say that your way is the only way, but choose the way which suits your temperament best; at the same time have an open heart for all paths, remembering that they lead to the same goal.

Always remember that true awakening starts in great Silence... Regardless how you call your Path - Silence will be the measurement of your progress.

In ancient days only the qualified disciples were accepted and initiated. This, however, remains true even today. For verily, in spite of propaganda and outer availability of the occult or yogic groups, etc, - only the inner maturity counts. One becomes "qualified" from within and accordingly, attracts the Grace of God.
